Victor Thomas Milazzo

Victor "Vic" Thomas Milazzo, 91, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at his home.

He was born December 1, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, to Benjamin Thomas Milazzo and Stephanie Florence (Martorana) Milazzo. Victor attended All Saints Elementary in Chicago, and the Seminary at Holy Hill in Hubertus Wisconsin with the Discalced Carmelite Order. His name was Brother Theodore.

Victor served in the United States Army from 1956-1962. He worked as a surgical tech including Neu Ulm Germany in the 22nd Medical Detachment. While in Germany he met Johanna “Hanni” Christa Wohrle. They married on March 30, 1959, in Neu Ulm, Germany, and recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. Hanni survives of the home.

He was a very spiritual man, attending Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church for several years and was involved in the choir and cantoring. He and Hanni were founding members of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. He taught religious education, was a chairman of the Liturgy Committee, was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus, and involved with the Mother’s Brothers prayer group. Victor also enjoyed woodworking.

Victor worked for AT&SF Railway Company in the purchasing department as a purchasing agent.

Other survivors include his children, Christine Zeller (Mike), Mike Milazzo, Patti Koerner (Mike), Rita Wilson (Rick), and Heidi Milazzo (Clay Culbert); siblings, Ben Milazzo (Val) and Bernadette Westberg (Paul); grandchildren, Joshua Wilson, Matthew Koerner, Emilee Procopis, Michael Kaleb Milazzo, Luke Zeller, Josef Milazzo; great grandchildren, Kayden Wilson, Lane Wilson, Lennix Wilson, Jaxson Wilson, Jack Procopis, Georgie Procopis, Cruz Koerner, Shaya Koerner, Brooks Thomas Milazzo, and soon to be born Baby Boy Milazzo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Frances Lee Milazzo and Rosemary Malito; and brother-in-law, Dominic Malito and niece Vicki Gertner.

Vic was a kind loving husband, father, grandpa (Opa), brother, uncle, Godfather and friend. Vic never met a stranger, loved to share stories enjoying lots of laughter. His life was a living example of love, kindness, faithfulness and spirituality.

The Rosary and 4th degree Knights of Columbus Chalice Ceremony will be prayed at 9:30am, Saturday, July 19, with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30am, at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Topeka.

Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
